As an indie company with a single significant project, being able to get the word out and being recognized, objectively, by gaming publications for the value and flaws of our products is invaluable. We like to believe that gaming journalists look at what we do with a critical but fair eye, and ultimately provide value and increased understanding to their readers and us.

Unfortunately, when there are unethical ties between journalists and the businesses that they purport to review, then this all becomes meaningless and serves essentially to subvert the very system of trust that journalism is built on. We, of course, cannot stand for this and as the core principle of #GamerGate, we agree with it.

The companies and journalists caught engaging in this unethical behavior, of course, would prefer to just portray those complaining as a bunch of teenage trolls and harassers - thus the accusations of sexism and other unrelated, essentially personal attacks. Ultimately, we do not support stupidity anywhere - whether from individuals or from companies. But we strongly think that journalists should be held to ethical standards and that corruption from the industry is actively serving to harm the entire culture of gaming.
