Gods and Idols is free to download, and free to play. If you want to support us there is a shop where you can purchase Essence, a resource used for many things in the game. Essence is also gained by just playing the game.

Independent gaming is one of the last bastions of real creativity and developer passion in the entertainment world these days, with most AAA, mainstream, games having the same consistency as frozen dinners: prepackaged, stale and mass produced. We believe very strongly that most of the real ideas still come from small groups, or even just dedicated individuals, with a genuine love for games and a desire to make games that they would want to play themselves.

In recognition of this, we are preparing a special gift for the community. We've spent thousands of dollars for our artistic assets, especially the excellent work on the artifacts, which go well beyond the merely descriptive to set the entire mood of the universe. And now, it is free for you to use!

We're releasing most of our assets on the excellent website Open Game Art under the very liberal CC-BY license. What does this mean? You can use it for your own games, and all you have to do is credit Gods and Idols if you use the assets. Let your dreams inspire you - our art assets can be yours!
