I don't know if its supposed to happen but i can not see asteroid belts all i see are stars

I can't either. That's why we have NASA and the Hubble space telescope to do it for us.

here's a picture of an asteroid. If you save this picture multiple times to your desktop you can make your own asteroid belt.

Only stars in neutral/friendly regions of space have asteroid belts, the green names on the Universe map
